The Easter bunny comes hop, hop, hopping …
… through the spring blossoms of Pitztal!
Spring is already captivating us with its colours and fragrances here in Plangeroß.
All that’s missing is a wonderful, sunny Easter celebration with our nearest and dearest. Are you familiar with our typical Easter traditions here in Tyrol? We’re talking about palm processions, egg tapping, and sweet yeast-dough bunnies. Palm Sunday falls on the Sunday before Easter. On this day, processions are held with palm fronds and colourful ribbons, and olive branches are handed out. These are supposed to protect your home from bad luck. On Easter Sunday, egg tapping competitions are held, where brightly coloured eggs are tapped against each other. The player whose egg stays whole is the winner.
Did you know that children in some parts of Tyrol receive sweet pastries from their godparents at Easter? Boys traditionally receive a rabbit and girls a chicken – but that’s no longer a strict rule. Here at Sportalm, your Pitztal resort, we’re currently putting together a unique Easter menu. What’s your favourite Easter tradition?
We wish you a very happy Easter and mountains of chocolate!
